Tofts Road West Wind Turbine

The proposal is being pursued by Melton Wind Limited based in East Yorkshire, who already operate two turbines at North Ferriby and are in the process of constructing two more.

The proposed wind turbine would have a tip height not exceeding 149m and would have a rotor diameter of 138m.  The installed capacity of the turbine would be around four Megawatts, with the power being exported directly to local businesses in the local area through a private wire arrangement.  

 

The project will also be designed to deliver a net gain in biodiversity.

The proposal will be the subject of a planning application which it is anticipated will be submitted in early January 2025.  This will include an assessment of the potential ecological, visual and noise effects of the proposal, along with the projects benefits to the local economy in terms of supplying cheap green power, and its contribution towards decarbonisation.

 

The project is being developed by Melton Wind Limited, and The Energy Workshop is assisting with the preparation of the planning application.
